Scott joined B. Walter & Co. in 2016 as its President where his primary focus is on Customer Relationships, New Business Development, and the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations. Scott has over 35 years of management experience with manufacturing-type businesses much of which involves producing products from steel. His first manufacturing position was as an engineer at ARBED in Luxembourg, at the time one of Europe’s largest steel producers. Prior to joining B. Walter & Co. he was the Vice President of Sales for Bionix, a manufacturer of medical devices and radiation therapy immobilization equipment. His background also includes management positions in R&D, Engineering, and Sales at Tenneco Automotive, a global manufacturer of exhaust and suspension systems. Scott has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, an MBA from Duke University, and is a former McKinsey & Company consultant. His hobbies include golfing, snow skiing, and gardening.
Sylvia started at B. Walter & Co. in 2012 as an assistant to the Production Manager. In 2014, she was promoted to Office Manager where she is responsible for Customer Service, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable and Receivable. She has worked in manufacturing for 25 years and has an Associates’s Degree in Accounting. Sylvia was raised in Wabash county, where our factory is located and has spent her entire life here. She is active in her church and enjoys quilting and her two Chihuahuas.
Director of Manufacturing Services
Steve began his 26-year career at B. Walter & Co. on the factory floor. He and his team are responsible for all areas supporting plant operations such as Purchasing, Computer Systems, Quality Control, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Technical Support to Production. He is an active member in his church and enjoys traveling with his wife and 11-year-old daughter to visit many zoos and aquariums. Steve has an Associates’s Degree in Computer Engineering Technology.
Matt joined B. Walter & Co. in 2019 as its Controller. He has 28 years of accounting experience, primarily with manufacturers producing fabricated metal products in the automotive, furniture, and orthopedics industries. Matt has extensive experience with many ERP systems, including directing two ERP implementations, and in manufacturing accounting. He has a Bachelor’s degree in finance from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University.
Product Engineering & Production Manager
Justin was recruited to join B. Walter & Co. in 2017 as an engineer upon graduation from Trine University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. His primary focus is on manufacturing engineering and product development but currently, he also serves in the position of Production Manager. He is a “hands-on” engineer and heavily involved in manufacturing operations. His hobbies include baseball and home remodeling projects.
Mark joined B. Walter & Co. in 2013 as a Maintenance Technician and was promoted to Maintenance Manager in 2017. He has worked in the field of industrial maintenance for the past 27 years, initially focusing on air conditioning and heating equipment and then later handling maintenance functions for manufacturing companies. Mark has an Associates’s Degree in Industrial Electricity and Electronics as well as a Universal license in HVAC. At B. Walter & Co. his team handles all aspects of equipment and building maintenance, including our preventive maintenance procedures. His hobbies include horseback riding, taking long motorcycle bike rides down country roads, camping, and fishing.
Shipping & Receiving Manager
Dan manages the Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling area at B. Walter & Co. Dan has been with the company since 2017 and has spent most of his life in Wabash County where our factory is located. Dan is raising two girls, enjoys playing the guitar, and has a passion for the outdoors, as well as maintaining an active lifestyle.
Tool Room Manager
Don manages our Tool Room and has over 45 years of experience in the Tool and Die field. He has designed, built, and maintained progressive high-speed dies and creates tooling to take a new product from concept to finished part. Our Tool Room is fully equipped with CNC Mills, Wire EDM, Lathe, Surface Grinders, Tig Welder, Heat Treating equipment, etc. In his role, Don supports our metal stamping and fabrication departments with tooling as well as fixtures and gages.
