Officers
Scott Buehrer
President
Scott joined B. Walter & Co. in 2016 as its President where his primary focus is on Customer Relationships, New Business Development, and the continuous improvement of manufacturing operations. Scott has over 35 years of management experience with manufacturing-type businesses much of which involves producing products from steel. His first manufacturing position was as an engineer at ARBED in Luxembourg, at the time one of Europe’s largest steel producers. Prior to joining B. Walter & Co. he was the Vice President of Sales for Bionix, a manufacturer of medical devices and radiation therapy immobilization equipment. His background also includes management positions in R&D, Engineering, and Sales at Tenneco Automotive, a global manufacturer of exhaust and suspension systems. Scott has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, an MBA from Duke University, and is a former McKinsey & Company consultant. His hobbies include golfing, snow skiing, and gardening.

Sylvia Sluss
Office Manager
Sylvia started at B. Walter & Co. in 2012 as an assistant to the Production Manager. In 2014, she was promoted to Office Manager where she is responsible for Customer Service, Human Resources, and Accounts Payable and Receivable. She has worked in manufacturing for 25 years and has an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. Sylvia was raised in Wabash county, where our factory is located and has spent her entire life here. She is active in her church and enjoys quilting and her two Chihuahuas.
Steve Cooper
Director of Manufacturing Services
Steve began his 30-year career at B. Walter & Co. on the factory floor. He and his team are responsible for all areas supporting plant operations such as Purchasing, Computer Systems, Quality Control, Maintenance, Tool Room, and Technical Support to Production. He is an active member in his church and enjoys traveling with his wife and 14-year-old daughter to visit many zoos and aquariums. Steve has an Associate’s Degree in Computer Engineering Technology.
Don Cox
Tool Room Manager
Don manages our Tool Room and has over 45 years of experience in the Tool and Die field. He has designed, built, and maintained progressive high-speed dies and creates tooling to take a new product from concept to finished part. Our Tool Room is fully equipped with CNC Mills, Wire EDM, Lathe, Surface Grinders, Tig Welder, Heat Treating equipment, etc. In his role, Don supports our metal stamping and fabrication departments with tooling as well as fixtures and gages.
